In 1924 Hans G. Berggren came to Kongsvinger and started fish store. The reason he came to Kongsvinger was that he as an officer cadet was placed at Kongsvinger Fortress. Originally he was from Sandefjord, where the family started a fish store in the 1911.
In the beginning was the range of fresh and salted fish, crayfish, wild game and berries. The fish came by train and picked up at the station with a pull-cart or sled. The finished products were distributed by bicycle. Sales and supply increased and wholesale trade accounted for the bulk of sales.
In 1958 the company started to produce processed fish products. The first year, production was approximately 1.400 kg. In addition, extended range to cover the wholesale of fruit, vegetables and salads. Distribution took place here with trucks.

The son Jan Berggren took over in 1965. In 1969 began Berggren act as agent for Drammens Is A/S. In the 70's concentrated achievement to the processing and smoking of fish and production of fishery products. In the late 70s the company started producing pasteurized fishery products. Until that time the products were packaged in paper or plastic bags. Wholesale of fruit and vegetables were sold later to Banan Matthiessen (BAMA).
